Between January and November 2024, support from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) for micro, small and medium-sized companies (MSMEs) increased by 46% compared to the same period in 2023. In total, credits amounting to R$80.1 billion, higher than the value of R$54.8 billion in the previous year.
In these 11 months, the bank’s partner financial agents were responsible for approving credit worth R$100.4 billion for companies of all sizes. For MSMEs alone, resources represented 80% of the value. In the same period of 2023, when financial agents operated R$74.5 billion in total, 73% of the amount was allocated to micro, small and medium-sized companies.
“BNDES’ partnership with financial agents allows the bank to reach more than 90% of Brazilian municipalities, contributing to expanding access to credit for micro, small and medium-sized companies, a fundamental segment for the country’s economy and generation of jobs, in addition to reducing regional inequalities”, highlighted the president of the institution, Aloizio Mercadante.
