Innovative companies will receive a contribution of R $ 56 million to develop solutions from the so -called Industry 4.0 for micro, small and medium industries (MPMES). The resources originate from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and the National Service for Industrial Learning (Senai).
Industry 4.0, or fourth industrial revolution, consists of Application of advanced digital technologies to increase factory productivity, making them smarter and more connected. Within this concept are activities such as:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Internet of Things (IoT)
- Big Data (database complexes)
- Cloud computing
- Autonomous and collaborative robots
- Cybersecurity
- Virtual and increased reality
- Automatically Guided Vehicles (AGV)
- Communication between machines (m2m)
The investment is non -refundable, that is, it is not a loan. Innovative companies interested in participating in public competition needs to register until September 12, through the SENAI platform.
Up to 100 proposals will be selected. Projects aimed at increasing industry productivity will need to be tested in a real production environment in at least 12 mpmes.

Competitiveness
According to Senai Director General Gustavo Leal, the initiative is one of the main national strategies to “accelerate the digitization of Brazilian industries”.
BNDES’s director of Productive Development, Innovation and Foreign Trade, José Luis Gordon, classifies investment as “fundamental to the competitiveness of national industry”.
The resources made available are part of the Brazil Most Productive Program, the federal government’s initiative to advance the productivity and competitiveness of MPMES.
The program is coordinated by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) and executed in partnership with Senai, the Brazilian Micro and Small Enterprises Support Service (Sebrae), the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI), the Brazilian Company of Research and Industrial Innovation (EMBRAPII), the BNDES Study and Projects financier, linked to MDIC.
Senai and Sebrae are institutions that are part of the S Systemfinanced by the contribution that focuses on the payroll of companies.
