BMV falls for the second consecutive day and extends the decline from highs

Mexican stock market advances slightly; Peñoles actions lead the profits

The Mexican stock exchanges They are trading at a loss this Wednesday morning. Local stock indices fall for the second consecutive day, extending sales from a historical maximum recorded on Monday, in a market attentive to the reporting season.

The leading index S&P/BMV CPIof the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), which groups the most traded local shares, lost 0.71% to 70,765.46 units. The index FTSE BIVAof the Institutional Stock Exchange (Biva), fell 0.88% to 1,398.99 points.

Within the benchmark index, most stocks are trading at losses. Group falls stand out Mexican Stock Exchange, with 4.53% to 36.06 pesos; Industrias Peñoles, with 4.20% to 1,036.57 pesos, and Grupo Financiero Banorte, which fell 2.33% to 203.27.

The securities of the Mexican Stock Exchange Group lead the losses this morning after the company presented its quarterly report yesterday, which showed a reduction in earnings per share to 0.83 cents per share from 0.70 in the same period of 2024.
