The Police captured alias ‘Cristian’ in Popayán, leader of the Carlos Patiño front, with 10 years of criminal history in the country.
In the west of the municipality of Popayanin a Police operation with the support of Goes, Interpol and the Attorney General’s Office, a leader of the Carlos Patiño front of Iván Mordisco’s dissidents, known as alias Cristian.
The operation was carried out in the Cajete village, where the subject was located, who is requested for the crime of conspiracy to commit a crime.

According to Colonel Germán Alfonso Cornejo Manrique, commander of the Popayán Metropolitan Police, alias Cristian had 10 years of criminal historyserving as leader of the illegal armed group with influence in Popayán and southern Cauca.
Alias Cristian would have participated in the inauguration of a vehicular bridge over the Micay River, in the rural area of El Tambo (Cauca), with the presence of illegal armed structures.
He is credited with participating in the armed attack of September 6, 2023 against units of the National Army in the district of Puerto Rico, Algeria, where there was harassment with explosive devices launched from drones that left five soldiers injured and the theft of war material.

In 2024 he would have been appointed by alias Gafas to create and lead an urban cell in Popayán, focused on criminal intelligence activities, propaganda and pressure on communities. He also carried out pseudo-political activities in El Tambo, Argelia and Popayán.
Through the preliminary hearing, a court with a guarantee control function protected alias Cristian with preventive detention in a penitentiary establishment.
According to Colonel Cornejo Manrique, the captured subject had been coordinating actions in the rural area of Popayán, especially in western villages, where threats and intimidation against the inhabitants of that sector have been known.
