Blooming missed valuable points in their fight to enter the qualification zone for the Copa Libertadores. This Tuesday night, on the 25th date of the Clausura tournament of the Professional Division, they tied (1-1) with Aurora, in a match played at the Tahuichi Aguilera stadium in Santa Cruz.
The tie keeps Aurora in third place in the accumulated table, with 55 points, and Blooming dropped to sixth position with 51 points. That is why it was key for the Santa Cruz team to win this match, in order to get within one point of the Cochabambinos (55 to 54).
In the first half, the local team had more of the ball and controlled the ball up to three quarters of the field, but from then on they began to have problems stringing together plays and reaching the goal defended by David Akologo.
The town’s team also did not generate in the offensive zone, but found a goal that came from a corner kick. Serginho sent the closed center to the near post, a defender diverted the trajectory of the ball, Jair Reinoso (14′) touched it with his head and the entire journey dislocated goalkeeper Braulio Uraezaña.
Things seemed to get much more complicated for Blooming as soon as the complementary stage began, because Richet Gómez (47′) saw the red card for a double yellow card, in a disputed decision by the Oruro referee Javier Revollo.
However, as the minutes passed, the light blue team assimilated the numerical inferiority and had two arrivals with real goal danger, with the Mexican Othoniel Arce, who had replaced Fernando Arismendi in the second half, and with the youth debutant Santiago Castedo .
In the 66th minute there was controversy. A ball sent from the corner kick reached the Aurora area, where Cristian Enciso touched the ball with his hand and referee Revollo did not charge a penalty, but after analyzing the play together with the VAR, he finally changed his decision in favor of the Santa Cruz painting.
César Menacho (69′) took responsibility for taking the penalty and did it with personality. His strong shot, low and to the left side of Akologo, could not be intercepted by the goalkeeper, despite the fact that he launched himself at the same place.
After the goal received by the Cochabamba team, coach Sergio Orteman decided to replace goalkeeper Akologo, who was surprised by his coach’s decision. Luis Fernando Cárdenas entered in his place.
Near the end, defender Denilson Durán (84′) almost scored an own goal, in a play in which he tried to clear a cross that came from the left. He sent the ball to the post and the rebound came to him to clear it as far as possible.
There were no more goals and the duel was tied. The point did not go badly for the town’s team, who managed to take the victory.
