Blooming won and rose to fourth place in both the accumulated table and in the Clausura tournament of the Professional Division of Bolivian soccer, and is in open fight for a place in the Copa Libertadores 2025. This Tuesday night it hosted Universitario de Vinto , at the Tahuichi Aguilera stadium in Santa Cruz, where they won 1-0, on date 23.

From the start, the light blues were about to open the scoring, because after 27 seconds César Menacho was alone in front of goalkeeper Raúl Olivares, but his shot went to the center and that made the goalkeeper’s job easier, who avoided the first goal of the game.

A few minutes later, Rafinha also tested the visiting goalkeeper’s ability with a shot from outside the area, which was destined for the net, but Olivares once again responded with confidence.

The Santa Cruz academy reached the goal in a counterattack that was started by goalkeeper Braulio Uraezaña and that ended with Moisés Villarroel (29′) scoring the first of the game, but Potosí referee Elvis Rodríguez annulled the goal two minutes later, because the VAR detected a handball of Villarroel at the time of scoring the goal.

The first stage was going, but first the Santa Cruz team got a scare, because Tommy Tobar (43′) crashed the ball into the post, after taking a shot from the height of the penalty spot.

The zero was only broken in the second half and it was through a formula known in Blooming. Rafinha executed a cross from the corner kick and Richet Gómez (50′) appeared mixed between the defenders and the rival goalkeeper to connect a header that ended in a goal.

At 63′, the ‘U’ almost equalized. Maxi Núñez made a deep pass, as if with his hand, to Tobar who took a shot with power and into the net; However, goalkeeper Uraezaña managed to clear.

The Cochabamba team showed some improvement and that began to worry Blooming coach Álvaro Peña, who could not believe that Samuel Garzón (70′) wasted a great opportunity when he was one-on-one with Olivares, as his shot went into the goalkeeper’s body.

Almost immediately and to strengthen the midfield, Peña sent Richard Spenhay and Juan Carlos Arce to the field in place of Rafinha and Pedro Siles. The work of both was important in the following minutes to maintain the 1-0, which was the final result.
