The presidential duo of the Youth Party, José Luis Chilavert and Sofía Scheid, questioned their non-inclusion in the canceled debate organized by several NGOs. Both coincide in their desire to participate with all the other candidates.
In an interview with the program Fuego Cruzado broadcast by GEN/Nación Media, Chilavert questioned the organization of the presidential debate and the NGOs behind itaccusing them of “trying to mark who are the potable candidates.”
“The popular heat of the people is another storywe are not guided by the surveys,” said the former goalkeeper of the Paraguayan Soccer Team, who said that In his journey through the interior of the country, he has felt the support and backing of the citizens.
Also repudiated these entities that “marked by hand who are the candidates to choose” by relegating the other presidential candidates and announced that, in case of reaching the presidency, NGOs are not going to have privileges like they do today. “They think they are more important than the ministries.”

“If they don’t want us to come to debate there, then democracy is curtailed. They cannot come to decide who are the potable candidates and who are notWe are all candidates,” he added.
His Vice Presidential Candidate Sofia Scheid stated that the call for debate shows that NGOs did not understand how democracy is built. “We play in the construction of a new Paraguay where the political exercise makes the big difference.”
From your perspective, the election of only two candidates (from the ANR and the Coalition) what it does is cut off opportunities to debate and polarize the ongoing electoral contest. For this reason, it advocates including all the actors involved and not leaving any of them aside.

On the points contemplated by his presidential project, he spoke of “recover” the Social Welfare Institute (IPS) to improve patient care, as well as its administrative functioning and other aspects such as the lack of medicines.
