Blandón: “I would have no problem meeting with the Vice President of the Republic as the political leader of a party”

Angel Valdes | June 20, 2023

The presidential candidate for the Panameñista Party, José Isabel Blandón, converted on the primaries of his political group, the new legislative period of July 1 and also would have no problem meeting with the Vice President of the Republic and PRD candidate, José Gabriel Carrizo , as a political leader since he believes that despite the differences, one must have the ability to converse.

Regarding the new legislative period that begins on July 1, Blandón said that “this week we will meet with the bench to talk about various issues, including July 1, there is definitely a war within the PRD and there is talk of two PRD candidates for July 1, we will see if that is the case, and it will have to be considered by the other benches that are not from the PRD what position to assume in the face of that, we are going to discuss it this week with our bench.

Blandón denied that he had met with the Vice President of the Republic, Jose Gabriel Carrizo, although he considers that he would have no problem talking with him as a political leader «I would have no problem meeting with the Vice President of the Republic as a political leader of a party because I believe that political leaders, even if we think differently or are at odds on some issues, we always have to have the ability to talk, in the end governing is about building consensus and those of us who are in the opposition also have to be able to seek those consensuses.
