Blackouts increase, graffiti against Díaz-Canel increases

Madrid Spain.- The constant blackouts in recent months, unsustainable for the people of Cuba, have led to various opposition reactions, including graffiti against Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and his government.

This Wednesday new graffiti appeared in the town of Bauta, Artemisa; and in Camajuaní, Villa Clara.

According to information from the independent magazine Cuban Timethe sign in Bauta was drawn on the outskirts of the city bank with the phrase “Díaz-Canel singao”.

The first power outage in Bauta occurred at 9:00 in the morning and lasted until 4:00 in the afternoon. At 9:00 at night, the electricity service was cut off again, which was not restored until an hour and a half later.

In Camajuaní, the same phrase in opposition to the president was written in the park of the church of that municipality.

“At this rate, the painters will have work all the time,” said the user @El_IngenieroCu ironically, who also shared in Twitter an image of the poster.

The last Monday a graffiti of “Patria y Vida” on one of the walls of the “Eladio Cid” stadium, in Arroyo Naranjo, mobilized the regime’s authorities.

Forces from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) immediately went to the place to find those responsible and make the graffiti disappear.

According to the association for the promotion of human rights, Cubalexthe deployed operation arrived with “canine brigade, police, military and sector heads.”

This Wednesday the Electric Union (UNE) of Cuba reported that massive blackouts would continue throughout the day.

According to the entity, the effects continue due to the fact that units 6 and 7 of the Máximo Gómez thermoelectric power plant (CTE), located in Mariel, province of Artemisa, and units 4 and 5 of CTE are out of service due to breakdowns.
