On the morning of Friday, August 30, at approximately 4:40 a.m., a power outage affected most of the entities in Venezuela, leaving citizens without electricity.
Users on social media are reporting power outages in all states of the country, including the Capital District, Vargas, Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Yaracuy, Lara, Merida, Tachira, Barinas, Trujillo, Zulia, Anzoategui, Monagas, Guarico, Bolivar and Nueva Esparta.
The NGO VE Sin Filtro reported on social media that at the time of the blackout, connectivity decreased by 83% in all states of the country.
Freddy Ñáñez, on VTV, reported that this is part of an alleged electrical sabotage and highlighted that an operation is being carried out to provide power to Caracas and Miranda, in principle, while he asserted that there are crews working in Guri in order to be able to restore power in the national territory.
He indicated that they have been working since early morning to restore electricity throughout the country. He added that all communication channels are active to receive citizen reports.
#30Aug National blackout now at 4:56am.
Cities in Maracaibo, Maracay, Valencia, Cumaná, much of Caracas, Los Teques, Guatire, and Barcelona are reporting no electricity.
History repeats itself.
