A video shared on social networks by a user identified as Alberto Fonseca (albe fonse) shows how the power goes out in a ceremony held in a theater on the Island.
The blackout occurred while a young woman was singing the song “Hasta siempre, Comandante” by Cuban singer-songwriter Carlos Puebla.
After the interruption of the electrical service, silence took over the theater. Later, exclamations are heard among the audience.
The video shows images of Che and Camilo Cienfuegos on stage, so it could be one of the usual tributes corresponding to the Camilo-Che day, which takes place every year around this time.
Electricity service interruptions occur daily on the island. This Sunday, the maximum impact occurred at night, coinciding with peak hour, according to a report by the Cuban Electric Union (UNE).
That state entity indicates that a maximum impact of 550 MW is expected today due to a deficit in generation capacity during daytime hours, and a deficit of 730 MW.
The UNE indicates that 61 MW from generation centers that were damaged by Hurricane Ian are still unavailable.
