The meeting will feature women from Baixada Fluminense, West Zone, Coastal, South Fluminense and Serrana Region. In all, 15 caravans confirmed presence, involving leaders of slums, quilombos, terreiro communities, social movements, cultural collectives and youth networks.

The walk will go to Almirante Júlio de Noronha Square in Lido. The program provides for cultural presentations, Afro-Brazilian artistic manifestations, facial painting and caravans reception. The nearest subway station is Cardinal Arcoverde, about two minutes walk from the concentration site.

“To take to the streets on Marielle’s birthday is to reaffirm that her struggle remains. March is a space of resistance, but also of future construction. We black women want to live and not survive. Living safely, health, with rights, with good living,” says Clátia Vieira, coordinator of the State Forum of Black Women of Rio de Janeiro.

During the act, a political manifesto will be released with the main claims of Brazilian black women.
