During Black Friday more than 1.6 million users made about 2.3 million transactions through electronic means such as debit and credit cards. Likewise, the total billing registered with electronic payments was $457 billion, with a variation of 42% compared to last year and an average ticket of $199 thousand pesos, higher than that of 2021, which was $169 thousand.
In addition, during this date more transactions were made than in other festivities that have been celebrated this year, such as Father’s and Mother’s Day, love and friendship and the first day without VAT, presenting a growth of more than 38%.
Secondly, In-person purchases made during Black Friday continue to be the protagonists with 64% participationregistering $292 billion, with a growth in billing of 38% compared to 2021. It should be noted that in the same way that there was an increase in face-to-face payments, there was a greater increase through e-payment channels. commerce, achieving growth of 51% in billing and 66% in transactions.

The largest number of transactions reported during this day occurred with debit cards, with 51% participation and 36% of total billing. However, compared to 2021, credit gained 9 share points in recorded purchases, reflecting that people sought more financing during Black Friday purchases.
The study also revealed that the segments that presented the highest sales on Black Friday at the national level were travel and tourism with 16%, supermarkets 13%, and clothing, technology and communications with 12%, respectively.
On the other hand, during the cyber monday, carried out on November 28, more than 1.3 million cards made nearly 1.7 million transactions through electronic payments. Likewise, the total invoicing registered by means of this type of payment was $308 billion, with a variation of 16% compared to last year and an average ticket of $181 thousand pesos.
Although during the cyber monday e-commerce purchases are the most anticipated, reaching a growth of 20% in billing and 9% in transactions this year. Face-to-face sales made during this day represented a participation of 67% and, according to the CredibanCo study , registered $207 billion, with a growth in billing of 14% compared to 2021.
Likewise, the most used payment method was credit, concentrating a billing volume of 60% and a growth of 26%, while debit only grew by 6%.
The foregoing makes it very clear that Colombians, both companies and consumers, see a great opportunity and benefits in the purchase and sale of products during these discount seasons, usually being the categories of travel and tourism, supermarkets, online payment platforms and services. for vehicles, those that register the greatest movement in sales.
