From April 25 to 29, the Havana Convention Center will host the BioHabana 2022 Congress, convened by the Cuban Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries Group (BioCubaFarma) as an opportunity to build alliances that allow a greater impact on health public.
The meeting, aimed at the world’s scientific and business community, has as its main objective to carry out a translation exercise of Life Sciences in Business Development, in a new scientific context, of innovation management, and of health at the international level. world.
According to a statement from BioCubaFarma, the Congress will be a unique space, due to its content and the time in which it is held (due to the COVID-19 pandemic), which is why it will enable a broad debate about the experiences and results of its participants.
Among the topics that will be addressed is precisely the COVID-19 pandemic, and the strategy followed by the Ministry of Public Health and the Cuban government, based on science, will be presented.
Researchers, specialists, and health authorities will be able to explain the therapeutic and control strategies for the epidemic in their respective countries and regions, as well as the proposals for managing the coronavirus infection once it returns to normal or endemicity.
The event will also discuss medical technology, industry 4.0, chronic inflammation and aging, and even agricultural biotechnology will be present.
A space will be created to discuss and deepen the most innovative results for the use of biotechnology as a powerful tool for caring for the environment, increasing the availability of food and advancing the purpose of one health.
Brain diseases will also be discussed at BioHabana 2022, an occasion in which the potential of BioCubaFarma for neurotechnological development and its social introduction will be addressed.
Cancer immunotherapy will have its space by presenting recent clinical achievements behind the use of immune checkpoint blocking antibodies and adoptive T-cell transfer therapies.
