BioCubaFarma Group signs agreement with Moscow State University

The representation of the BioCubaFarma business group in Russia and the Faculty of Physics of the State University of Moscow They signed this Tuesday a memorandum of cooperation for the development of medical devices and scientific and educational exchange, according to official media.

During the meeting, the director of the representative office of BioCubaFarma in the Eurasian nation, Idania Caballero, explained that the agreement will facilitate the application and development of different methodologies, equipment and molecules to be used in the diagnosis and therapy of diseases that are causes of death in the world, and particularly in Cuba, as reported the agency Latin Press (PL).

In this regard, the official of the Caribbean nation explained that the investigations will be focused mainly on oncological and neurological pathologies, for which both countries have advanced studies and drugs for their prevention and treatment, the media reports.

“We have been exchanging with this university for several years and right now we are already specifying specific projects that will undoubtedly have repercussions on scientific development. It will also have repercussions on academic training in Cuba and in Russiawe are going to unite our efforts to achieve a better impact on the medical services that our population receives”, emphasized Caballero, quoted by PL.

For his part, the dean of the Russian educational institution, Nikolay Sysoev, stated that the signed memorandum has “a wide range of edges” for cooperation in “key sectors” such as digital medicine and quantum technologies. “This is a promising agreement between BioCubaFarma and our Faculty of Physicalwhose background is agreements and exchanges between universities in Havana and our center, with internationally recognized results”, he stressed.

The news dispatch indicates that the professor of the Research Center for Magnetic Tomography and Spectroscopy of the Russian Faculty, Yury A. Pirogov, specified that another of the directions in which the joint work will focus will be on the study of the molecular structure and tissues alive of those medicines that will be destined to the treatment of certain socially significant illnesses.

In this regard, he specified that they will advance in research on various brain injuries associated with Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s, as well as, in the area of ​​oncology and diabetes, add the information.

The report adds that as part of the meeting, the scientific-technical attaché of BioCubaFarma in Russia, Adolfo Castillo, assured that this “will be the beginning” of a period of fusion of knowledge and experiences backed by the international prestige that the Faculty has. of Physics of the Moscow State University “MV Lomonosov”.

“Our institution already has experience of collaboration with Cuban universities and we will extend that experience to collaboration with the University of Moscow, specifically with the Faculty of Physics, highly recognized in the application of physical and photographic methods and nuclear and biomedical technologies” , said the Cuban scientist.

The report adds that the counselor for the Education and Science area of ​​the Cuban embassy in Russia, Gustavo Cobreiro, also participated in the exchange, who explained about the current links between the houses of higher education of the largest of the Antillean islands and those of the Eurasian nation.
