Several motorcyclist organizations in the country have announced, through social networks, that they have carried out a protest against different abuses who report as road actors.

One of the concentrations began this Wednesday 2November 3 at 10:00 am in the Virgilio Barco Library. Likewise, there was another concentration near Los Tres Elefantes on Boyacá avenue with 20 but no influx of bikers.
The protesters arrived at the Bogotá City Council demanding answers from the mayor Claudia López. During the demonstration, the passage through Calle 36 28A-41 was blocked. By 5:00 pm, blockades were reported on Av. Calle 19 to the East.
Miguel Forero, leader of the SOS Motocultura group, said: “The government has not failed. We are not going to kneel. The motorcyclists do not get the SOAT, they are persecuting them on the roads they travel, they are immobilizing their motorcycles and they do not let them work, like those on the platforms”.
The demonstration occurs in the midst of the government’s decision to have a discount. The Ministry of Transport, together with the Ministry of Finance, announced a 50% reduction in the Soat fee.
The president of the Colombian Motorcyclists Association (Asomocol), Alejandro Rubio, said that the Soat issue has been one of the most critical for the guild, which is why they request prompt solutions to move normally.

“They told us that this situation would be resolved by the end of October, but nothing has been done. On the platforms, the SOAT runs out to achieve it, this is causing subpoenas or that they cannot get the motorcycles out, and they are taking advantage of this to immobilize the vehicles and harm the drivers“, he claimed.
Likewise, he denounced the lack of guarantees for them to travel calmly on the roads. On the contrary, are victims of mobility agents and the system that make them ‘the petty cash of the Traffic Police’.
