Hugo Biedermann, candidate for senator for the Patria Querida party (PPQ), was invited to the program “In Favor and Against” on 5Días TV. During the note, he offered some reflections on how he sees national politics and the advances of the Coalition.
He affirmed that although he is not a politician, he does consider that he has a lot of common sense to point out that the Coalition started late, as always happens. In addition, he warned that it does not matter which party wins the presidency, but which party has a majority in Congress.
“I have the theory that if the Colorados have a majority in Congress we are fried. Being second is business, here the opposition loves to be second. It is better to be a friend of the yacht owner than the owner of the yacht because if you are the first you have to maintain it, clean it and other expenses”, he pointed out.
FAMILY PART
The businessman son of the “father of advertising” Enrique Biedermann questioned that to be a senator or deputy in our country, the requirements are practically nil. Since the political machines make people enter without the skills for the position.
On how his family took his political aspirations, he pointed out that he was fortunate to marry very young, so his children are already of mature age.
“I got married at 18, my son was born quickly and I am 4 today. I feel like a useful person but not useful at the same time because I am not taking advantage of myself with all the experience that I have. I am 47 years old. I have already done advice to governments, to the main companies, not only in the advertising part but also advice in every way, he said.
He argued that he can no longer do anything for his children, but he will try to do it for his grandchildren.
“Paraguay is one of the richest countries with the poorest people and that is due to poor administration. There is talk of oil, but we have a renewable oil such as hydroelectric power. We are one of the countries per capita with the most renewable energy we have, but we don’t even have many electric cars,” he commented.
PPQ
Regarding the reasons why he chose the Patria Querida party to venture into politics, he reported that it was because he participated in the construction of the same group as a publicist.
“The parties have a function, not as an employment agency, but to educate people. No one educates here to hold public office. Come in anyone. Patria Querida is from the center and I am a person where both sides are useful. I think that fanaticism destroys everything, sports, politics and religion. Dear Homeland is a party of the center, where you can develop ideas that are not extreme, “he said.
GOOD POLITICIANS
Finally, he argued that the country has good politicians, but the problem is the system and not democracy.
“You have a Congress that is the power of the nation. The president has the pen but he needs the approval of Parliament. We are a country of useless. There is no plan. The plan is not to have a plan. To cite an example, on the waterfront they don’t know what they are going to sell for, for how much, why. If Paraguay manages to bring in money from Paraguayans abroad, foreign investment will not be necessary”, he stated.
