The technical director of Academic Management of the General Directorate of Professional Technical Education (DGETP), Laura Bianchi, participated in the presentation of the information updated to the year 2021-2022 of the Educational Monitor. The new edition of the study incorporated the graduation indicator. During her speech, she highlighted the work and results of the Building Horizons Project and emphasized the importance of student participation in her educational center.
In a conversation with Grupo R Multimedio, he spoke about the preliminary proposal for the Student Evaluation Regulation, corresponding to the Integrated Basic Education Plan, regarding the elimination of automatic repetition (due to the number of “drops” or absences) and emphasized that assistance is “a strategy that has to follow the trajectory, it should not have a punitive emphasis”.
“In fact, it is a measure that allows us to see when the student begins to have an intermittency in the link with the educational center and we have to take them as a key element for monitoring”
With regard to absences and dismissal, he explained that “it is multi-causal” and cannot be attributed to a single factor. “It is evident that we have to work a lot from the perspective of improving the strategies that have to do with the follow-up of the trajectories and the continuity of the students. We have been reinforcing the work through the analysis of the work data of the technical teams at the territorial level on these cases.”
In addition, Bianchi highlighted the importance of the figure of accompaniment and that what the educational proposal incorporates is to reinforce the idea that the follow-up in order to have the corresponding evidence to be able to evaluate its performance.
“We have to strengthen the capacity to generate this evidence and therefore assistance. The proposal is associated with having a longer period of time that will allow us to establish if the student has not really been able to sustain the learning during that period of time and therefore in that case in the section it is due to this, “he concluded.
