On the night of this Tuesday, the senator for the National Party, Grace Bianchionce again shared a false image asserting that the journalist, Denisse Legran, made certain comments.
“Lula should summon Chavista troops to repress the Bolsonaristas. The Brazilian military are useless. – Denisse Legrand, ‘journalist’ of La Diaria”, says the image, as if affirming that the communicator would have expressed those words. However, such a thing was not the case and she herself came out of this defamatory tweet.
Hundreds of responses criticized the ultra-conservative legislator, and tried to clarify that, supposedly, she does not subscribe to what the message says. “I only retweeted serious statements. I did NOT claim that you uttered them. If NOT, it clarifies it, period. It’s simple, very simple,” Bianchi said. And she added in another tweet: “And don’t bother me anymore”.
Degrand responded in the original tweet thread: “You RTed a fake trying to pass it off as false claims. The accusation is as low as the rejection, ”he snapped.
These assertions are very serious. pic.twitter.com/uQHJRYQpOP

For Legrand, with this type of action by the leading senator of the PN and third in command in the line of succession of the Executive Power -after Luis Lacalle Pou and Beatriz Argimón- “the level of the political system is underground.”
In parallel, the writer and far-right militant, Mercedes Vigil, also shared the same photo. “Question for MIDES: do we continue to pay this brainless NGO?” Vigil commented in the tweet. “There is no Mercedes Vigil more to the bottom… If they used their imagination to reproduce fakes of people convicted by justice for defamation and incitement to hatred [que no aprenden y reinciden]the world would be much better ”, Legrand replied.
There is no more Mercedes Vigil to sink… ?
If they used their imagination to reproduce fakes of people sentenced by the courts for defamation and incitement to hatred [que no aprenden y reinciden]the world would be so much better. https://t.co/55y7t2Gdqj

Bianchi’s fake news record
There are not a few times that the white legislator has shared -and supported- fake news on her social networks, and uses all kinds of explanations for not deleting the tweets or retracting them.
In June 2022, he shared fake news about Gustavo Petro, who had been elected president of Colombia a few hours earlier. In said hoax, Bianchi shared a false photo in which Petro is supposedly seen with the drug lord Pablo Escobar. This image is digitally modified, since it was not the Colombian president who is actually in the original photograph.
To this day, Bianchi maintains on his Twitter account that photo, refusing to remove it, and rather reaffirmed: “Reality is NOT a montage. You have to accept it.”
Only three days later, the legislator did it again: On that occasion, he had falsely denounced that the wife of the former court prosecutor, Jorge Diaz, was a senior official of the Judiciary. That time, he shared a note from the newspaper El Observador entitled “Claim of the rape complainant in Cordón was key to initiating a summary against Iglesias”, and added on his part: “To be clearer, the wife of former prosecutor Díaz is the Director of the department of victims of the Prosecutor’s Office. All in family”.
The ex-Court prosecutor himself, Jorge Díaz, came up against these assertions, who replied without mentioning her: “I don’t spend gunpowder on chimangos, but taxpayers have the right to know that my wife never worked in the Prosecutor’s Office. She is professional and exercises freely”.
A few months before this, at the beginning of April 2022, he had shared false news about Luis Lacalle Pou. “Now we do return to the path that Uruguay should never have abandoned,” he commented while showing a digital composition with the president’s photo and the headline “According to the UN, he is the best president of America and 5th in the world. Give me the ballot box and I’ll vote for him again!!».
Clearly, such a UN ranking does not exist and, true to form, to this day this tweet is still on the air and never deleted or retracted it.
