Politician Biagio Pilieri has been detained for seven days and is incommunicado from his family and trusted lawyers
Maria Livia Vasile, wife of former parliamentarian and political leader Biagio Pilieri, denounced this Thursday, September 5, that the coordinator of Convergencia was charged with the alleged commission of five crimes in a hearing where his trusted lawyer was not present.
Through its social networksVasile indicated that Pilieri was presented on Friday, August 30, with the assistance of a public defender, where he was accused of the alleged commission of the crimes of conspiracy, criminal association, incitement to hatred, terrorism and treason.
He stressed that this Thursday he has already been arbitrarily detained for seven days, and warned that he is incommunicado from his family and lawyers, who have filed complaints in various instances, including the filing of a “Habeas Corpus” in the Criminal Judicial Circuit of Caracas.

The Con Venezuela command denounced this August 28th the arrest of Convergencia coordinator Biagio Pilieri. The organization stated that the last real-time location shared by the political leader shows that he was transferred to the headquarters of the Helicoide of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin).
“We denounce Nicolás Maduro and his regime for whatever may happen to them!” the command wrote at 2:33 p.m., also warning that Pilieri was with his son Jesús Pilieri, who was later released.

He Thursday, August 29, Officials from the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin) raided the residence of the political leader of Convergencia, Biagio Pilieri, in Chivacoa, Yaracuy state, the organization reported on social media.
In addition, in the message posted on social network X with photographs of the Sebin units in front of Pilieri’s residence, Convergencia demanded that the political persecution be stopped.
For its part, the political party Convergencia demanded the release of Pilieri on Saturday August 31stindicating that the leader “is a pillar of the tricolor party, who for decades has shown himself to be an upright person, a man committed to democracy, freedom and human rights.”
