BHD offers a complete portfolio of digitalized products, services and requests

Santo Domingo, DR.- Banco BHD currently has a portfolio of 100% digitalized products, services and requests, among which are: ⁠credit cards, accounts, consumer loans, certificates, commercial credit line disbursements, inter alia.

This result is the product of the technological modernization and digital transformation strategy that BHD has been carrying out for more than five years.

Luis Lembert, general manager of Banco BHD, said that “even before the pandemic, we made the decision to transform ourselves into a digitalized universal bank; that is, we have been digitalizing our products and services through digital channels, while continuing to provide a distinctive banking experience to our clients through in-person channels. Today we can say that our entity has the most robust portfolio of digitalized products and services in the country, and, therefore, that we are the bank that receives the most digital requests.”

In the first half of this year alone, 38,000,000 transactions were made from the digital channels of the BHD, 31% more than in 2023. Of this figure, 93% was through the financial institution’s mobile application.

Angela Nieto, Senior Vice President of Technology and Digital Transformation at Banco BHD, pointed out that “in the first half of 2024, sales of digital products also increased by more than 170% compared to the same period last year.

In 2023, we received recognition as the only multiple bank in the country with the best user experience in personal digital channels in the Gold category in the Digitalization Ranking of the Superintendency of Banks, and we obtained Gold in the personal and business segments; in addition, we obtained a distinction for sustained excellence in digital channels in this evaluation. We are consistent in our digitalization efforts.”

BHD is a pioneer in digitalization

In April 2024, Banco BHD received Platinum status at the 2024 Financial Innovators in the Americas Awards, awarded by Fintech Americas in the work culture category for the agile innovation scheme applied within the organization, which has turned it into a digitalized universal bank.

Among the recent innovations implemented by BHD are the digital financial certificate, which is requested in a 100% digital process, and Crediclick, an immediate, recurring and also flexible credit that the bank’s clients can manage themselves from the bank’s internet banking and mobile application.

Additionally, implementation of digital checks, electronic signature of commercial loans, use of artificial intelligence in various processes and application of facial biometrics in ATMs.

Karina Bretón, Senior Vice President of Operations and Channels at Banco BHD, said that “BHD was the first bank to offer contactless transactions at ATMs, allowing our customers to carry out different transactions without having to insert their debit or credit card into the ATM. We are constantly advancing digital solutions that improve the lives of our customers through our channels.”

Another advance in digitalization carried out by BHD is the application of a 100% remote service model called Virtual Executive, with staff that supports clients from the personal and SME segments who wish to receive personalized virtual attention. These clients can opt for digital products and services such as financing requests, credit cards, account openings, insurance policies, among others.
