Beyond the fire is a documentary that crudely shows the devastation caused by forest fires in Bolivia. Through interviews and stories reflects the drama that the flames cause in the region chiquitana and in our ecosystems. Local and foreign firefighters, residents of affected communities and environmental specialists put their faces to a tragedy that we all suffer.

The images relive the forest fires. The green fields tinged with leaden smoke that chokes the throats, communities devastated by fire and the unwavering fight of thousands of firefighters, many of them volunteers, to quench the murderous flames.

Then there is silence, pain and, over time, oblivion. Sebastián Ulloa, director of ‘Beyond Fire’, has set out to strike the conscience of Bolivians so that the more than 10 million hectares burned in 2024 are not repeated, that oblivion does not hide the tragedy.
