“By clicking on it, the person is redirected to sites where they are asked to install additional software: a browser extension, Flash Player update, or other. It is then that the virus is installed on the PC; In this case, the malicious program installs an extension in the browser to publish on Facebook automatically and continue to spread the content,” they detailed on the site of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies of Paraguayas far as the situation.
Bolivian systems engineer Michael Ortiz advises the people who suffered this attack to remove the tag from the image and, above all, report it to prevent it from spreading further.
How to do it?.
1. In the upper corner of your screen, click on view your profile
2. In the options bar that appears below your username, click on the button with three dots and select Activity Register
3. In the new menu, on the left, choose Activity you were tagged in
4. Search for the video indicated in the options that will be displayed on the right and on the button with the three dots, also on the right, select Report and Remove Tag.
Subsequently, and to avoid future inconveniences, Ortiz advises editing the security and permissions in your account, since it is something that most users do not perform or do not configure well.
It is also recommended to inform the user who tagged you or those who were tagged from your account so that they can follow the protection process.
