Beware, new scam

UTE alerts for “false message offering to invest money” in the company

“The information circulating is of fraudulent origin and it recommends its clients not to provide any personal data,” the agency maintains.

UTE reported about a new scam method using the image and name of the company through social networks.

As noted on the X platform, it is “a false message offering to invest money in UTE.”

In the image, you can see a website that asks for personal information, accompanied by a text that says: “The CEO of UTE has just concluded an agreement with the Uruguayan government to allow all citizens to invest in UTE shares through of its new trading platform.”

“You have a unique opportunity to generate $5,000 a month by investing in UTE shares starting at $200. Don’t miss your opportunity,” adds the fraudulent text.

In addition, images with authorities of the public organization and its logo are attached.

“Faced with this new scam method, UTE clarifies that the information circulating is of fraudulent origin and recommends its clients not to provide any personal data,” the company says.
