The Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation of the Power of attorney issued a statement addressed to Congress this Monday, in which it asks it to establish details about the request for prevented from leaving the country Betsy Chavez and Roberto Sánchez, former ministers of Pedro Castillo. As is known, last Friday, the Permanent Commission agreed to make such request as a preventive measure against the constitutional accusation that is being filed against them for the crimes of rebellion and conspiracy, for having collaborated with Castillo to carry out the coup attempt on December 7.
In this sense, the Judiciary urged the Legislature to specify the terms of this request, which were not specified during the decision adopted by the Permanent Commission.
“The Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation requests the Congress that establishes a term and the reasons that justify his request to be prevented from leaving the country against Congresswoman Betssy Chávez Chino”, reads the announcement issued by the Judiciary.
The chamber that will be in charge of issuing the final decision recalled that Parliament required this measure as a result of the constitutional accusation that was formulated against Chávez, but highlighted the absence of details.
Previously, the Public Ministry urged, through a letter sent to the Legislature, to carry out said action when alerting the legislator’s danger of flight after the head of the Ministry of the Interior, Vicente Romero, announced that she had requested the withdrawal of her personal security.
In this way, the PJ awaits the provisions of Congress, in terms of time and reasons, so that the impediment of Betssy Chávez Chino’s departure from the country is decided, who, in order to dispel suspicions about her flight, reiterated that he was not seeking to evade justice and this Monday asked that his security personnel be reinforced.
