The President of the Council of Ministers, Betsy Chavezconfirmed that the Government of Pedro Castillo considers that Congress rejected the question of confidence raised by former Prime Minister Aníbal Torres.
“(Was it understood from the Executive that the first denial of the question of trust has already occurred?) Correct. We made a document indicating that the supreme resolution accepting the resignation of Dr. Aníbal Torres Vásquez, in his capacity as his premier, is based on the letter of resignation. The letter of resignation (was accepted) in merit of the minutes of the Council of Ministers, where we indicate the constitutional legal grounds for which this constitutes a rejection of trust”, he told TV Peru.
The Prime Minister asserted that the issue of trust “has to be regulated and restored” to before the promulgation of Law 31355, a law that interprets said constitutional figure.
“If saying this is going to imply that they do not give me trust, I cannot force parliamentarians to give me trust, but I can be sincere and honest with the public with what we consider fair and necessary. Aside from us as political actors, what are we leaving to those who come after us,” she added.
Betssy Chávez denies a question of trust over the Budget Law

“Everyone has the chip in their head that I entered and I am going to close Parliament. I am also a parliamentarian and I believe in the balance of powers that institutionality in the country must be restored. But, be careful, the fact that one expresses firmness does not mean arrogance, ”she pointed out.
“Citizens have elected a Government and a Congress that will be here until 2026. I believe that an opposition is important and vital to be able to grow, there must be heterogeneous thinking,” said Chávez Chino.
