This is the sister of Abel Sotelo, who had been working in the Legislature, but was discharged last Monday, hours before the proceedings were carried out by the provincial prosecutor Karen Vásquez, according to a source close to Peru21. to the investigation.

However, during the procedure to the congressional office, the prosecutor found Flor Sotelo’s contract, signed by the minister and current member of the Perú Democrático parliamentary caucus. The evidence will be incorporated as an input to expand the preliminary investigation.

Marco Antonio Sotelo Villa, brother of the alleged sentimental partner of Betssy Chávez —who it was learned was hired as an assistant in Chávez’s congressional office in October 2021— worked for Essalud in Tacna during the time that the parliamentarian was head of the Ministry of Labor , institution on which Social Security depends.

According to Purchase Order 4504077098, he was hired as administrative assistant support for the human resources unit of the Tacna assistance network, for a total amount of S/6,600 for a period of 3 months, from May 16 to August 13, 2022, at a rate of S/2,200 per month.

CHÁVEZ IS COMPLICATED

The new evidence further compromises the situation of Betssy Chávez, who rejected the “speculations” and said in a statement that she was not responsible for “the alleged acts or omissions” of other officials.

However, faced with a sea of ​​incriminating evidence, the president of the Congress Oversight Commission, Héctor Ventura (FP), has already announced that the Minister of Culture must respond and will be summoned to this working group “between Wednesday and Friday ” in the next week.

In parallel, the opposition benches have been considering filing a motion for interpellation against him, which could become a possible request for censure if Chávez’s answers are not satisfactory.

This is not a new scenario for the member of the Ministerial Cabinet, since she was already censured on May 26, when she was head of the MTPE, for “her inability to manage and negligence in her actions” regarding the air traffic controllers’ strike that caused the cancellation of flights during the Easter festivities.
