Beteta: “There are men who pretend to be LGBT to deceive gays and extort them”

The president of the Association of New Men and Women of Panama, Ricardo Beteta, spoke about the disappearances and murders of gay men. He said that since 2023-2024 they have recorded the deaths of 5 gay men and 2 transgender women.

Beteta explained that there are predators, men who, through social networks, pretend to be gay to take advantage of people from the LGBTIQ community, extort them, steal from them and even physically harm them.

For years we have demanded that the State create public policies in defense of the rights of the LGBT community and they are not doing it, Beteta pointed out.
