Last June, the Chamber of Deputies gave half sanction to the bill that extends for 50 years the allocations specific destined to support cultural activities carried out by the audiovisual, theatrical, musical industry and popular libraries.

After more than four hours of debate, the project was approved in the lower house with 132 votes in favor, from the Frente de Todos, the Federal interbloc, the United Provinces and the Left; 5 votes against libertarian legislators, and 92 abstentions from the majority of the members of Together for Change.

Meanwhile, shortly after, last July, the project obtained a committee opinion in the Senateat the end of a plenary session in which the vice president of the National Communications Entity (Enacom), Gustavo López, participated.

Thus, It is an initiative in conditions to be treated in the enclosure for its definitive sanction.

These specific assignments, which guarantee the continuity of resources that are distributed in a federal and equitable manner throughout the national territory, they will cease to be received by the agencies on December 31, 2022 (Law 27,432 of 2017) if the extension is not voted on in the Senate before the end of the year.

According to those sectors, these allocations are essential for the promotion and development of theater, music, dance, cinema, television, audiovisual, libraries and community media, and thousands of jobs depend on they.
