Beneficiaries registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) with Social Registration Number (NIS) at the end of 4 will receive this Thursday (23) the October Gas Aid in the amount of R$ 108.
Scheduled to last until the end of 2026, the program benefits 5.01 million families. With the approval of the Transitional Constitutional Amendment, at the end of 2022, the benefit was maintained at 100% of the average price of a 13 kg cylinder.
The benefit is paid twice each semester and follows the Bolsa Família calendarwith payments until October 31st, for beneficiaries with final NIS 0.
Only those who are included in CadÚnico and have at least one family member who receives the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC) can receive Gas Aid.
The law that created the program defined that the woman responsible for the family will have preference, as well as women victims of domestic violence.
This month, the investment by the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Combating Hunger for Gas Aid is just over R$542 million.

People’s Gas
In September, the federal government launched the People’s Gas programwhich will gradually replace the Gas Aid.
Instead of the cash benefit, families will collect their gas cylinder refills from accredited dealers.
The new program aims to triple the number of beneficiaries, reaching around 15 million families.
