Beneficiaries of the Parole program could be deported

The Interim National Secretary of National Security, Benjamine Huffman, announced today a memorandum according to which immigration officials could consider the possibility of stripping of the temporal legal status to immigrants who entered the United States through the probation programs of the former president of the former president Biden.

The ICE memorandum applies to people who entered the country through the border between the United States and Mexico using the CBP One application, as well as those who flew to the country through the humanitarian probation process.

Under the humanitarian probation program, Cubans, Nicaraguans, Venezuelans and Haitians could come to the United States whenever they had a financial sponsor, complied with certain background and health requirements and entered an airport.

More than 531,000 people from the four countries had flown to the United States under that program until November, according to federal data.

Around one million received probation at the border between the United States and Mexico after using the CBP One application.

The process, known as “accelerated expulsion”, had applied only to people arrested within 14 days after their entrance to the country and within 100 miles (160 km) of the border under the Biden government.

In today’s memorandum, Huffman invoked an immigration statute to facilitate the delegation of state and local order forces of the United States in order to help with the application of immigration and detention laws due to a “massive influx” of Immigrants in the United States “illegally.”

The memorandum gives ICE officials a road map on how to use expansive powers that were for a long time reserved for the meetings on the southern border in order to quickly expate emigrants.

The text requires ending with “all categorical probation programs that are contrary to US policies.”

President Donald Trump considers both the parole Humanitarian as the other programs through the application of CBP One quotes were never legal, so those who hosted them must be expelled.

The Make The Road New York Immigrant Rights Group filed a lawsuit to block Trump’s expansion of the deportation process quickly.

Cuban -American representative María Elvira Salazar sent this Friday a letter to the DHS requesting Cuban emigrants benefiting from the Parole program.

In the letter, he asked the DHS to allow them to follow the process to be eligible for status adjustment in accordance with the Cuban adjustment law.

“I asked the Department of National Security to protect Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans and Haitians without criminal records that are in the process of asylum. Do not punish them for Biden errors! ”He said in X.
