Beneficiaries of the Juntos program will receive oral health care

The ministries of Housing and Territorial Planning and Public Health renewed an agreement with the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of the Republic (Udelar) that allows carrying out a comprehensive oral health plan for the participants of the Juntos socio-housing program. In this way, care, oral health education and prevention will be provided.

The event took place this Monday, February 6 at the headquarters of the Juntos program. The Ministers of Housing and Territorial Planning, Irene Moreira, and of Public Health, Daniel Salinas; the general coordinator of Juntos, Rody Macías; the vice-chancellor of Udelar, Álvaro Mombrú, and the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Mariana Seoane.

The agreement will allow all the beneficiaries of the Juntos program, which operates under the orbit of the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning, to receive dental care from students and teachers of the Faculty of Dentistry at the Hospital de Clínicas.

Services include prophylaxis, scaling, scaling and smoothing. Emergencies will also be attended and imaging studies, extractions, periodontal surgeries, restorations, endodontics, replacement of missing pieces by means of prostheses and occlusal stabilization devices will be carried out. In addition, there will be instances of education and prevention.
