Benedetti: Venezuelan airlines received the green light from Maduro to fly to Colombia

The Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, Armando Benedetti, reported that the Maduro government granted the authorization to resume their routes to Colombia to the three missing airlines, since Turpial has been flying to that country for more than a month.

The Venezuelan airlines Conviasa, Láser and Avior join Turpial as the companies authorized to fly to Colombia, after the government of Nicolás Maduro granted them authorization to resume their routes for the first time in almost three years.

As part of this process, on Thursday the first Conviasa flight landed in Bogotá after the restitution of air operations between Colombia and Venezuela.

The state plane transported to Bogotá a delegation made up of the Venezuelan Ministers of Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán; and Agriculture, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, along with 100 Venezuelan businessmen.

Venezuelan authorities and businessmen participate in a binational meeting sponsored by the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) in order to promote commercial activity between both nations.

The Conviasa flight comes two days after the Colombian ambassador to Venezuela, Armando Benedetti, reported that President Nicolás Maduro authorized all Venezuelan airlines to reactivate their commercial operations with Colombia.

“I think the most important thing is that Maduro has already authorized all Venezuelan airlines to travel to Colombia and upload more days and more frequencies,” said the ambassador.

The decision to authorize all airlines to fly to and from Colombia is added to the full reopening of the border, which is scheduled for next January 1.

The air connection with Colombia had already been reestablished, but the only company authorized by the Maduro administration was Turpial, despite the fact that the activation of flights by all Venezuelan airlines was expected for September 26, the date on which it was reopened. the border between the two countries, a symbol of the rapprochement between the governments of Maduro and Gustavo Petro.
