Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons (left knee soreness) and Yuta Watanabe (right hamstring strain) will not play today against the Washington Wizards, the team announced yesterday.
Today’s matchup will mark the seventh game Simmons has missed this season with a knee issue. He left during Monday’s first-half win over the Orlando Magic after re-experiencing knee soreness.
Nets coach Jacque Vaughn initially said Simmons would go “day by day” and the Nets were hopeful the 26-year-old wouldn’t have to miss too much time.
“We have to play a smaller lineup, he’s one of our ‘greats,’” Kevin Durant said after the game, when asked what changes without Simmons on the court.
