In the spirit of seeking an equitable, supportive world that helps sustained global economic growth, the Belt and Road Media Cooperation Forum was inaugurated on August 9 in the city of Xi’an, China. The capital of the province of Shaanxi is the cradle of the ancient Silk Road and from there the balance of this economic proposal of the Asian giant was evaluated before representatives of the media from various parts of the world.
In 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping officially launched this economic integration mechanism, which currently unites Beijing’s partners in interconnection by land, sea, air and internet.
The forum summoned journalists to urge the need to objectively and creatively communicate the scope of the Belt and Road Initiative, harshly questioned by the West in the midst of the economic war that Washington is promoting against the Eastern power.
Huang Kunming, a member of the political bureau and the secretariat of the Communist Party of China, said at the opening of the activity that transparent and warm international cooperation has been built thanks to the Belt and Road. He pointed out that a pattern of cultural and commercial exchanges beneficial to all parties has been formed.
He rescued the words of President Xi Jinping at the time of launching this initiative: “The Silk Road originated in China, but the opportunities and achievements belong to the world”, words that describe the spirit of cooperation of the initiative and that explain the values of a new form of trade alternative to the tax one that is traced from the West.
For his part, Tuo Zhen, president of the People’s Daily, the main internal publication in China, stressed that in the Belt and Road initiative, all parties adhere to the principles of cooperation, respect, enjoyment and construction of new development spaces. for mutual benefits.
He regretted that the Western media insist on continuing to generate negative propaganda about this form of trade and fair exchange between equals, which, in his opinion, should be explained by journalists. “The media plays a fundamental role in spreading positive news regarding relations between different countries and playing a positive role in the construction of the Belt and Road,” he said.
