The minister spokesman for the Government, Jaime Bellolio, came out in defense of the Undersecretary of Public Health, Paula Daza, after the opposition criticized her for joining the campaign of the presidential candidate of the Christian Social Front, Jose Antonio Kast. In particular, the deputy Leonardo Soto (PS) announced that it will appeal to the Comptroller’s Office, which the Secretary of State described as a reaction of “panic.”
“Why do they do it? They do it because they are in a panic. They do it because they really do not like the fact that Paula Daza, in her sense of responsibility, can transfer her wisdom, her calm with which we have seen her during all these years, can transfer her knowledge on the management of the pandemic to a next government, ”Bellolio said at a press point.
According to the government spokesman, what the Comptroller’s Office says is that “you cannot do political work during hours in which you have to be working as a public official or using public resources.”
Bellolio added that Daza “will take three weeks without pay, by definition there are no public resources and he is not on working hours.”
“I deeply regret that the same people who criticized the entire vaccination process and Paso a Paso, (…) today come to criticize Paula Daza, really? The truth is that it is surprising that some want to electorally abuse until the last second to see if they can get a little bit on TV ”, concluded the minister.
