Candidates Igor Normando (MDB) and Delegate Eder Mauro (PL) will contest the second round of elections in Belém do Pará. With 92.77% of the ballots counted, Normando had 44.66% of valid votes, against 31.54 % by Eder Mauro. Mayor Edmilson Rodrigues (Psol), who was seeking re-election, came in third place.
In his second term as state deputy, Igor Normando, 37 years old, has already been a councilor in the capital of Pará for two terms, having started the first of them at just 24 years old. The candidate is a cousin of governor Helder Barbalho and was secretary of citizenship in his administration, between 2023 and 2024. The candidate for vice mayor on his ticket is businessman Cássio Andrade (MDB).
Delegate of the Civil Police of Pará, Eder Mauro, aged 63, is in his third term as federal deputy. In the Chamber of Deputies, he is part of the group known as “bancada da bala” and identifies himself on social media as the leader of this group in the North Region. Running as vice mayor on his ticket is his daughter-in-law and anesthesiologist Dr. Tatiane, married to his son, state deputy Rogério Barra (PL-PA).
