This Monday, courses began in most of the education subsystems, thus complying with the provisions of the authorities of the ANEP Central Board of Directors.
Changes are announced at the Secondary Education level, modifications that were proposed by the teachers themselves in the different ATDs that are carried out throughout the country.
“We are facing a new school year that generates a lot of expectation due to some transformations that have been announced, fundamentally at the Basic Cycle level, but also in Baccalaureate” he said Professor Luis Fratti.
In upper secondary education, he commented, during the live interview of THE PROFESSIONAL Radio This Monday, March 2, after hours and subjects were cut in the previous government period, the biologically oriented high schools return to the schedule they had previously. “For example, in what has to do with the curriculum, the introductory module is not mandatory” reported.
“An issue that was worked on a lot in the last Extraordinary ATD in which we participated, which was carried out in the city of Minas, was the review of the changes that had been introduced at the Basic Cycle level and also at the Baccalaureate level” said the President of ADES Cerro Largo.
“The changes that have been made were proposed by teachers in previous ATDs” stood out. “What happened in the previous period, when they called us with everything already digested and soon, we were simply going to validate or not what the Administration ordered, is now different. The teachers were called, we participated and the changes that the teachers suggested are reflected today in the Programs” he assured.
GO LEAVING EDUCATIONAL TRANSFORMATION Aside
Fratti expressed that there is still a lot to be done to dismantle the Educational Transformation carried out by the previous Government with Robert Silva as its main promoter. “Elective subjects were created, but no physical space or teachers were created. This meant that the children had to leave the educational institutions early” he counted.
“A Plan was established, but the infrastructure and the budget were not established. In most of the Workshops the Teachers were absent because they had not been able to choose because the system for choosing hours generated mirror schedules and teachers who worked in other subsystems could not access those hours” explained the education union leader. “There were no classrooms either” he added.
PROPOSAL FROM THE TECHNICAL TEACHING ASSEMBLY
“That is an issue that must be resolved quickly. One of the proposals made by the ATD is that these elective hours become subject hours so that in the first round of hour elections they can be chosen” he stated.
Precisely, in relation to the acts of election of teaching hours, he pointed out that some inconveniences were observed that, according to Luis Fratti, are attributable to the Educational Transformation.
“There were also many teachers who became effective and when this happens they have to choose a certain number of hours that allows them to become effective” he pointed out.
“At the time the competition was created, we had said that this opposition and merit competition did not provide the guarantees for all teachers to achieve effectiveness” he remembered.
“That finally happened. Many teachers could not apply because when they went to the hour elections, they did not receive the corresponding hours. We said that we had to hold a contest with a sufficient number of hours so that all those who passed the contest could access them.” remarked the President of ADES, Filian Cerro Largo. He said not only was there a massive contest, but hours were cut. “That made many save the contest, but it was not carried out due to lack of hours” concluded
