The Minister of the Interior, Eduardo ‘Wado’ de Pedro, highlighted the importance of “strengthening regional integration to seek joint solutions to common problems”, at the beginning of the seventh assembly of governors of the Norte Grande that takes place from 10 a.m. capital of Santiago del Estero, in which the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, also participates.
When opening the meeting, De Pedro called for “strengthening regional integration to seek joint solutions” and also stressed that this integration aims to “enhance resources and regional production” throughout Argentina.
The governors of the Norte Grande are meeting in Santiago del Estero with a varied agenda of topics that include the execution of works for the region, a differential energy rate and a development plan for lithium, with the participation of Manzur and Pedro.
It is a meeting of the Norte Grande Regional Council, during which the governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, will pass the pro tempore presidency of the body to his counterpart from Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamora.
The meeting takes place at the Bicentennial Cultural Center, located in the center of the capital of Santiago, and will conclude with lunch after noon at the Forum Convention Center.

Manzur and De Pedro participated this Friday of the act with which Zamora began his fourth term in Santiago del Estero, occasion in which he assured that his provincial political project aims to consolidate the “unity of the people of Santiago.”
At the meeting of the presidents this Saturday, various initiatives are being discussed to seek joint solutions to the problems in that region of the country.
From the organization of the event, they pointed out that The meeting takes place within the framework of the first anniversary of the formation of this group called the Norte Grande which is made up of governors from different political spaces.
The governors Gildo Insfrán (Formosa), Osvaldo Jaldo (Tucumán) also participate in the session of the Regional Council of the Great North of Argentina; Raúl Jalil (Catamarca); Ricardo Quintela (La Rioja); Jorge Capitanich (Chaco); Gerardo Morales (Jujuy); Oscar Herrera Ahuad (Missions); and Vice Governors Antonio Marocco (Salta) and Pedro Braillard (Corrientes).
The meeting’s agenda includes an analysis of the 2022 budget, a differential energy rate, a subsidy for public passenger transport, the Dubai fair, an infrastructure plan for the North Bi-oceanic Corridor, the Bermejo regional commission, submeridionales low, flat rate of gas, development plan for lithium, Hidrovía Paraná-Paraguay, free zone, cargo transfer systems and dry port.
After the debate and the presentation of the document that will be issued, the provincial leaders will share a lunch with national officials, in anticipation of the restart of the federal tours of President Alberto Fernández, who will lead next Tuesday a new meeting of the federal cabinet; this time in the Tucuman city of Monteros, one of the designated “alternate capitals”.
