More than 65,000 inhabitants in nine districts and 38 districts of the province of Veraguas will be impacted with more than 500 initiatives of social, educational, environmental and economic development interest that have a multisectoral, participatory approach to social inclusion and protection of rights. humans, this through the Beehive Plan.
On the afternoon of this Thursday, May 19, the Minister of Social Development, María Inés Castillo, presented the Beehive Plan, after a broad consensus among civil society, the government of Veraguas, local governments and the technical board.
With this Plan, districts such as Picador and San José, located in the district of Cañaza, which have a multidimensional poverty rate of 96.5% and 96.8%, respectively, will receive comprehensive care in social matters.
The Minister and Technical Coordinator of the Social Cabinet called on civil society, private companies, academia and non-governmental organizations to join forces with this State policy that has become the Law of the Republic, ensuring its effectiveness and compliance in each one the projects that are carried out.
Castillo stressed that Colmena is a multisectoral, decentralized, participatory and sustainable strategy that seeks social inclusion through alliances between public institutions, civil society, private companies, academia and the community.
