In a recent interview, the former Undersecretary General of the presidential office Beder-Camacho denied that after his resignation try to escape the country.
“The most erroneous of all that is said is that Beder Camacho is going to flee the country. There are politicians who go out looking for cameras to say that ‘he has already resigned and tomorrow he is going to Bolivia, Venezuela, Spain, different places.’ I want to tell the entire country that I have a family in the country and I have always handled myself correctly and I’m not going to run away”, he said in an interview for RPP Noticias.
He also argued that whenone holds that type of position there will always be complaints”. In this sense, he indicated that he is at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office, since “he trusts the objectivity of the Public ministry”.
“From the beginning I have given all my contributions, I have presented myself to the Public Ministry to tell him that I am here, the times that I am summoned I will attend, I will give my statements. I have always said: cowards are those who run away and those who have committed a crime. I am not a coward nor have I committed a crime and I am facing the country”commented.
at another time, Beder Camacho fue consulted on the ex-confidence man of Pedro Castillo, Bruno Pacheco. The latter would have stated before the authorities that he was the former undersecretary of the presidential office who would have helped him escape by order of the head of state.
“Mr. Bruno Pacheco had his reasons for fleeing. The big difference is that each one is responsible for criminal acts, the acts of any person are very personal. In the case of Mr. Pacheco, we did not have a great relationship when we worked. After his subject came out of preventive detention, I had no contact with him. (…) I don’t care if Bruno Pacheco surrenders today, Juan Silva surrenders tomorrow, the president’s nephew surrenders the day after. I have not done any illicit act with any person. I have not stolen a sun from the Peruvian State. I am Beder Camacho and I will always show my face”, he pointed out.
Finally, he referred to his resignationwhich was accepted by the president Pedro Castillo and the head of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres. On the subject, he indicated that he shows his gratitude and has nothing against the president.
“As you have seen, in the letter of resignation I express my gratitude and from the moment that Mr. President Pedro Castillo gave me the confidence to take office, I told him here he has three things: loyalty, work and honesty,” he commented.
