Santo Domingo,- The Administrative Minister of the Presidency assured that the Public Trust Law promoted by the government of President Luis Abinader before the legislative chambers is a tool to avoid privatizing State assets.
José Ignacio Paliza recalled that trusts in both the public and private spheres are not an instrument created or designed by the current government. Beating up maintained that those who oppose them today are those who, with a congressional majority and in the direction of the State, not only approved the figure, but also put it into operation.
Interviewed by Héctor Herrera Cabral on the D’AGENDA program that is broadcast every Sunday on Telesistema Canal 11 and TV Quisqueya for the United States, the senior palace official added that there is experience like the RD Vial Trust that everyone knows, and therefore every highway in the country where a toll is collected is held by a trust.
He insisted that this was put in place by those who are today in opposition, and it is contradictory that now they oppose a figure that was thought and worked by them.
“Why are they opposed when we are regulating it more today, making it more transparent, and making the figure much more rigid and formal so that the people and the State can have a higher level of guarantees, for a very simple reason, it is not an academic discussion nor is it designed to favor the Dominican people, they promote it because they do not want fundamental programs or projects, such as the one in Pedernales, to be a reality today,” he lamented.
He criticized that “in 20 years of government management, they thought, visited, went around Pedernales as many times as they wanted, and they could not take a single block, and in Pedernales there will be a cruise ship docking in Cabo Rojo this year.”
He explained that this cruise is already being marketed by Royal Caribbean, which can be seen on its page, on the route that leaves La Romana, runs through the entire South of the Country, goes to Aruba and other islands in the South of the Caribbean.
“These results are, obviously, for political purposes that some want to prevent, the discussion has no other nature, what we are doing today is nothing more than making it transparent, I repeat, strengthening and further institutionalizing the figure that they created” , he reiterated.
When asked about the concern of some sectors that state assets can be privatized through said mechanism, paliza responded that, “the Public Trust is a tool not to privatize.”
“It is quite the opposite, what it seeks is to generate dynamics that allow the utilities, as in the case of Punta Catalina, to be more efficient, but never privatize them, and we have given the guarantees in writing, in the project itself it is, of that the nature of the figure is that ”, pondered beating.
He stressed that it is being regulated, and gave as an example that there is a public trust bill, that there was no reason to submit this initiative to Congress, and it has been brought there to discuss it and further strengthen that figure, so that it cannot be misinterpret the intentions of a government that wants to make things transparent.
President PRM guarantees that public funds will not be used in the campaign for next year’s elections

Beating up said that the PRM is not going to amulate the political vices of the efforts of the past, and those who today criticize that opposition leaders are sworn in in the official party, say so aware that they made any use of public resources to generate profits. policies.
“We are not going to use the same model as before, and I can give you guarantees that the official who uses public resources in a known, manifest, and evident way, will have the corresponding sanction by the person who today directs public affairs, who has Given samples, as he has said very well in other cases, different from this issue, but with a degree of similarity, which has given the appropriate answers, President Luis Abinader and the PRM are not going to replicate the models of the past.” , insisted the political leader of the official party when interviewed on the D`AGENDA program.
Regarding the positioning of the political parties, the official assured that the PRM would not have difficulties to win today in the first round, and to obtain better results than those achieved in the 2020 elections.

He said that in the opposition there is “a good scenario for a good fight for second place and, of course, we do surveys not with the intention of showing them, nor to use them as a political tool, but to be able to find out how people think, and being able to work in line with their expectations.”
Regarding the eventual reappointment of President Luis Abinader, Paliza said that “today the important thing is the work of the government, how we move this country forward, address the crisis, make the people have a better living condition, and then that is what It will make us creditors of a possible political future that smiles at us”.
Regarding the methodology that the Modern Revolutionary Party will use to choose its candidates for elected positions, the pro-government leader said that they assumed the primaries as the fundamental model, and that party decision has not yet been changed, although he recalled that the law of Party contemplates several methods, and even, that can be combined.
