A Venezuelan migrant identified as Orlenis Coromoto Henríquez Pérez, 46 years old, was allegedly murdered by her partner, a 31-year-old man who fled after hitting her hard on the head and causing her death.
The tragic event occurs in the southwest of Guayaquil, near the intersection of 30th and M streets on the night of Saturday, May 28, after an argument between Orlenis, his partner and his partner’s lover.
Both hit the Venezuelan woman, ending her life and fleeing the place, Ecuadorian media reports.
Mario Reinoso, a local, says that the individual grabs the victim by the head to hit her against a wall. “Those blows, plus those of his fists, cause him to collapse on a flower bed,” details an Extra report.
The neighbors call the ECU-911 to send help, but the paramedics from the Fire Department could do nothing upon arrival, because Orlenis no longer had vital signs, they say.
The Venezuelan known in the area as “La Chama”, had lived in Ecuador for five years and worked in a restaurant near the Guayaquil hospital.
Orlenis was a native of the Portuguesa state and leaves behind four children. Three of her lived with her in Ecuador and of these two are minors.
Orlenis’ relatives request financial support to cover funeral expenses and transfer his remains, along with his two minor children, to Venezuela.
So far in 2022, 35 femicides have been registered in Ecuador. The last two cases were in the city of Buenos Aires, he refers Extra.
