The 5 -peso coins were the most falsified seconds with 215 pieces.
In the case of bills, falsification barely grew by 1% with 286,917 false pieces, especially 200 and 500 pesos.
The falsification of 200 pesos bills was the highest since for every million pieces in circulation, Banxico detected 51.3 apocryphal pieces.
Of the 500 peso bills, 41 pieces were falsified per million in circulation while 21 pesos were recorded 21 false pieces per million.
Falsification of dollars down
In the case of dollars, the falsification of this currency recorded two consecutive years down.
While last year, 8,005 tickets were falsified, in 2023 the number of apocryphal pieces was 8,516.
Bank of Mexico does not detail about the denomination of these tickets.
