Maduro was extracted without a scratch, without any trauma, and the jocularity shown in New York is a meme that makes ridiculous those who claimed a “faith of life.”
HAVANA.- One of the greatest risks to which Cuban communists have been exposed, after the spectacular United States military maneuver in Caracasis that with this it was amply demonstrated that the Cuban “personal security” for which so many millions of dollars paid Hugo Chavez and Nicolás Maduro was not as efficient as they were promised when they were sold as “invulnerable” and probably “loyal until death.”
Maduro’s personal security unit, made up mostly of Cuban troops (as happened with Salvador Allendein Chile, and with Agostinho Netoin Angola; with Muammar Gaddaffi, in Libya and with Yasir Arafat, in Palestine, to give the most notable examples, and to give us an idea of how long they have been selling their “high quality” product to the world), was neutralized in a few minutes and, what is most disturbing for the Cuban military, was taken by surprise despite having deployed, for years, a strategy similar to that used with Fidel Castro, of establishing several strictly closed security circles, even kilometers away from the objective. protect.
All of these “circles” failed and, according to what was reported, few of the troops—the majority Cuban—managed to survive the operation, just as none of them managed to cause a single casualty in the US forces. Which makes the matter more embarrassing for a regime that right now must be wondering if what happened was real, if there was not something more than surprise and excessive confidence in that assault, where there was not even time to wake up Maduro who, from the festive smile he showed when walking through the corridors of the DEA building in New York, it seems that he has not yet come out of the dream. It seems that he is not aware of what happened to him, and to the Cuban security cordon in which he trusted so much.
The military operation, named “Absolute Resolution”, in its Spanish translation, and led by Delta Force and the Night Stalkers, so perfect in execution and results, right now must be being studied as far as possible by a terrified Castro General Staff. The same one that, until yesterday, was thought to be unbeatable, based on the increasingly deteriorated “revolutionary consciousness”, the very questionable “spirit of sacrifice” (when the true objective of every “mission” is to collect the salary in dollars and not in Cuban pesos) and some old obsolete manuals of “guerrilla warfare” and “irregular warfare” that, as they have been able to verify in the most recent experience, have been of no use in Venezuela, not even once the “state of war”.
There has been so much ridicule that they are now possibly torn between acknowledging that they have been outwitted—which leaves them more vulnerable, as the myth collapses that, even with the obsolete weapons of the Soviet era and starving soldiers, they could get an ace up their sleeve—or feeding, through publications on social networks, the hypothesis of a betrayal in the high command of the Venezuelan Armed Forces, or even in the Executive that has inherited power from Nicolás Maduro, in the hope of saving the “honor” of troops that were simply crushed by the high-precision work of the “enemy.” You don’t have to give it any more thought.
With or without betrayal, pacts or cowardice within Madurismo (and who knows if within Castroism), the United States military operation was successful because they knew how to identify the opponents’ vulnerabilities and, apparently, they were sufficient to guarantee not only the cleanliness of the maneuver but the speed with which they carried it out, as if it were an abduction rather than an arrest.
Maduro was extracted without a scratch, without any trauma, and the jocularity shown in New York is a meme that makes ridiculous those who demanded a “faith of life” (and even proof of guilt), even though they never responded when they demanded the same with former minister Alejandro Gil who, by the way, and speaking of “betrayals”, apparently will not be the only one they must take care of from now on.
They urgently want to turn the page on ridicule, so that people do not dwell too long on questioning the effectiveness of a Cuban army and military that is already known, with what happened in Caracas, to be more slogan than effectiveness, more distraction than action and reaction. In short, they are not worth the price they claim to be, and it is possible that hiring will decrease, or current ones will be cancelled, just as oil shipments from Venezuela will reach zero. Apparently until Diosdado Hair He was wondering what happened, because implicit in that question was the doubt about “security” guarantees that failed.
They try to turn the page and divert attention as quickly as possible to inconsequential issues, when what it is about is that there is one regime falling on the side there, and another to fall on the side here. They need, now that they have been left naked in front of the world, to divert attention with speeches and slogans that we already know are more than hollow, with impossible, absurd demands, to the international community and to a White House that has wiped the floor with them, and that would have no reason to return a criminal like Maduro.
Let us keep in mind that, with the “massacre” that they announced so much not having occurred, with no civilian deaths or collateral damage of importance to brand the United States military operation in Venezuela as “criminal” and “terrorist”, and to proclaim that there was “heroic resistance” on their part, Castroism and Madurism now urgently need bloodshed in Venezuela (better if it were in Caracas) to cover these absences and sustain the discourse of self-victimization, of justification of repression and violence, a discourse that has fallen under its own weight.
Venezuelans and the world must be very attentive. Castroism, like a cornered beast, will manufacture, as only the Cuban repressors sent to Venezuela know how to do – the same ones who disguise themselves as civilians in Cuba to beat peaceful protesters in our streets -, the deaths it needs on the side there, the massacre that, if it did not exist, would collapse the fears and myths in which the permanence in power for more than half a century is justified.
