The Central Reserve Bank (BCR) stated that the private sector was the main driver of this advance in the formal workforce, with a growth rate of 6.3% year-on-year.
Thus, among the private sector activities that led this expansion, according to the BCR, agriculture, services and commerce stand out, which added 143 thousand, 60 thousand and 20 thousand jobs, respectively.
The agricultural sector, which includes the processing and conservation of fruits and vegetables, which are exported abroad, was the most dynamic in generating employment with a notable growth of 27.7%. 54% of new jobs came from this activity.
For their part, the services (+2.8%) and commerce (+2.9%) sectors showed moderate growth, reflecting the dynamism in activities linked to domestic consumption.
This positive result adds to a trend of improvement observed since the beginning of the year, according to the monetary authority.
