Verónica Roca-Rey

Banco de Crédito (BCP) has opened the call for applications for the twelfth edition of its Becas BCP program. This initiative is part of the financial institution’s sustainability strategy, which seeks to provide access to higher education to talented, low-income young people.

Verónica Roca-Rey, manager of Social Responsibility and Public Relations at BCP, told Perú21 that the process began this month and will last until January 6 of next year.

The program is a full scholarship that covers 100% of academic expenses for the duration of the degree. For scholarship recipients who live in the provinces and must move to Lima, the scholarship also provides monthly housing and transportation expenses.

According to Roca-Rey, the initiative allows beneficiaries the opportunity to study one of the 77 most in-demand courses on the market, related to administrative sciences, engineering and technology, through universities and institutes allied to the program.

BCP Scholarships finance courses at the University of Lima (UL), the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), the University of Piura (UDEP) at its Lima and Piura campuses, the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC) and the University of Science and Technology (UTEC).

As for technical courses, the allied institutes are Certus, Cibertec, Tecsup and Toulouse Lautrec in the Lima, Chiclayo, Trujillo and Arequipa campuses.

“The purpose of BCP Scholarships is to enable young talent to access higher education and ensure that the economic factor is not a barrier,” said Roca-Rey.
