The Banco de Crédito de Bolivia (BCP) promotes the ‘unstoppable’ initiative for women leaders and in two years of work it manages to ensure that 35% of the highest positions in the corporate structure of the financial entity are taken over by them. “Unstoppable represents a decisive step in the right direction towards equal opportunities for men and women in business and it reflects the commitment we have with equity and achieving a balance in our command structures within our entity”, expressed the general manager of BCP, Marcelo Trigo.
The executive explained that, under the ‘Gender + Talent’ premise, BCP carried out internal programs to train and promote female talent, in a context of equal opportunities, with innovative and creative work teams who conceive differences as ‘a fact that generates value’.
“Equal opportunities within a company occurs when women have the same chances to opt for positions of various kinds, and can manage to improve their professional career and their chances of promotion under the same conditions as a man and without salary differencesWheat noted.
The executive added that under this logic of equality the benefits are important for the company and the development of human capital in terms of creativity and productivity.
The International Labor Organization (ILO) defines gender equality in companies as the possibility of having the same professional development opportunities, equal remuneration for work done, the same security conditions and participation in decision-making, as well as flexibility to reconcile work and family life.
“Imparables reflects the BCP culture and offers an idea of what our commitment to a future is where women and men work as a team and on equal terms”, Wheat emphasized.
