After going offline due to the high volume of accesses, the system that allows consulting forgotten values in banks and financial institutions will only work again on February 14, informed the Central Bank (BC) today (26).
For three weeks, functionality within the system registration will only allow queries. Requests for transfer of values can only be scheduled from March 7th.
“The BC informs that, as of 02/14/2022, the citizen will be able to consult if they have any amount to receive. If so, you will be immediately informed of the date on which you can request the transfer of funds to your account. These transfer requests can be scheduled from 03/07/2022, on the date informed by the system,” the BC said in a note.
The Registrato system tool, which provides an extract of customer relationships with financial institutions, went into operation last Monday (24). Due to excessive demand, however, it showed instability on Monday night and went offline on Tuesday (25) in the afternoon.
OB says it is investing heavily in expanding the Registrato’s service capacity. In the first hours of operation of the system, around 79 thousand people and companies were able to make the query and conclude 8,500 requests for resource redemption, totaling BRL 900,000, informed the monetary authority.
According to the BC, the return of BRL 900,000 will occur within 12 business days, through Pix, to the account indicated by the user.
Currently, there are R$ 8 billion forgotten in financial institutions in Brazil, says the BC. Of this total, up to R$ 3.9 billion can be redeemed by 28 million people and companies in the initial phase of the tool. In the coming months, the service will be expanded to other types of withdrawals.
At this stage, funds from checking or savings accounts closed and not withdrawn can be returned, undue charges for fees or credit obligations with a term of commitment signed with the BC and capital quotas and apportionment of net leftovers from credit union members and defunct consortium groups.
