After last Monday, customers of BBVA Mexico unexpected “deposits” by the bank were reported on social networks, and after the institution clarified that this was due to the fact that some purchases with debit cards were not registered “due to human error”, it now reported that the charges corresponding to those operations , have already been done.
Through the official accounts of BBVA Mexico, it explained to its affected customers that if they made purchases with debit cards on April 27, 28 and/or 29, “by mistake”, they did not withdraw the money corresponding to said cards from the accounts. operations.
He acknowledged that this created confusion and customers could have used the money when seeing it available in the accounts.
However, he pointed out that a few days ago the charge corresponding to the aforementioned purchases was made, which could have caused some accounts to have a negative balance.
In this sense, he stressed that in order to help customers who are in this situation, he will make support available to them at no cost, but he will invite a coffee to those who do not require help.
“In order to help you, we will make support available to you at no cost to you. If you don’t require it, let us at least invite you for a coffee,” the bank reported on its networks.
He mentioned that in the following days, the clients who suffered from this situation will receive communication from the bank, “to be able to make use of the support or have a coffee.”
Finally, the bank offered an apology for the inconvenience.
According to information from the bank, there were around 200,000 accounts that registered a negative balance, for an average amount of 700 pesos.
